How Tea Pods Work in Your Machine

If you already own a coffee machine, you can make a cup of tea in it. This page explains how single-serve tea pods work, which machines they fit, and what to expect when you try your first one.

Which machines they fit

Our tea pods are compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine machines and K-Cup brewers. Nespresso also makes VertuoLine and professional machines, which use different capsules, and our pods do not fit those. If you are not sure which machine you have, look at the capsules you usually buy or at the model name on the machine. You can browse each range here: tea pods compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine, and tea capsules compatible with K-Cup brewers.

How it works

Each pod holds a single portion of tea. Put one in the machine, close it and run a cup, and the hot water does the brewing. There is nothing to measure, no kettle to boil and no tea bag to fish out afterward.

Brewing in a Nespresso OriginalLine machine

Tea needs more time than espresso, so for tea pods compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine we recommend a brew time of 30 to 45 seconds, which is longer than the standard coffee cycle. Check your machine's manual first to see how to set this up. The brewing guide on that collection page walks through the options.

Brewing in a K-Cup brewer

For K-Cup brewers there is nothing special to set up. Put the tea capsule in the holder, close the lid, choose your cup size and brew.

For homes, guests and offices

Single-serve pods are handy when different people want different teas: a guest room, a rental, a reception area or an office kitchen. Variety packs make it easy to offer a few flavors. For larger orders, write to us through our contact page.
